Why should I join the Fraternal Order of Police?

Because the FOP is a body of law enforcement officers striving to improve their profession by improving working conditions, wages and benefits and monitoring legislation affecting law enforcement on the local, state and national levels. 

Eligibility:  Any full-time sworn law enforcement officer with arrest power or anyone retired from such a position may become a member of the DeKalb Fraternal Order of Police.  IMPORTANT: To be eligible for Lodge insurance benifits, members must have been a member at least two years prior to retirement.

New Member Applications:

  1. Print and complete the "Member Application/Update" form.
  2. Designate your beneficiaries by printing and completing the "Beneficiary Designation" form.
  3. Select your payment method.  Either send a check/money order, complete the online payment process (bottom of this page), or print/complete the "Monthly Draft Authorization" form.
  4. Send paperwork promptly to the DeKalb FOP, 1238 Ridge Avenue, Stone Mountain, GA  30083.

Each new member application must be reviewed at a regular meeting and each candidate is voted upon.  If approved, every new member must attend the next possible meeting to be sworn into the Order.

Annual Member Renewal:

  1. Print and complete the "Member Application/Update" form.
  2. Select your payment method.  Either send a check/money order, complete the online payment process (bottom of this page), or print/complete the "Monthly Draft Authorization" form.  IF YOU ARE ALREADY PARTICIPATING IN THE MONTHLY DRAFT, YOU WILL NEED TO SUBMIT A NEW SIGNED FORM FOR 2017 WHICH WILL REFLECT THE NEW MONTHLY DUES. 
  3. If you wish to update your beneficiaries, print and complete the "Beneficiary Designation" form.  If no changes are needed, skip this step.
  4. Send paperwork promptly to the DeKalb FOP, 1238 Ridge Avenue, Stone Mountain, GA  30083.
